3.07 ECLIPSED MOONLIGHT? WHAT TEH EFF?!!

Moon Watching can be fun! This picture, seen in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Western Asia is of a complete (ly awesome) lunar eclipse. The picture also includes items such as Saturn and the star Regulus from the constellation Leo. This isn't just a single photograph, but a stunning composite outling the red light and the Earth's shadow. (!)

RS Pup: 10x more massive than the sun, on average it is 15000 times more luminous. This be a variable star! This star's importance lies in it's use as the baseline for determining the cosmic distance scale. RS Pup "pulsates" over a period of about 40 days. This is seen in the "Nebula Delay in Time" effect- effectively a light echo.

Venus and Jupiter in the Morning Skies
These two planets are described as the children of the sun- and are the second and third brightest objects in the sky after the MOON! At the time of this picture, the two objects appeared to be separated by a mere two degrees- however they came so close as half a degree afterwards.
